Ivory and Tweed

Jacket: Thrift
Dress: Thrift
Shoes: Target
Rack Diving: 09

We stumbled blearily through these shoots in the chill of the desert morning, but we got them done out of love and devotion and now here it is. The miraculous ninth installment of this series on style, Rack Diving!

In the spirit of winter and promoting elegance in the face of chill, this Rack Diving post focuses on the timeless and the chic. We begin with a tweed jacket, a lucky find at our local Savers, which Vikky nearly swooned over when she spotted it. She'd been on the hunt for one of these heavy and classic pieces for quite a while before she found this one. The cut of it is simple, and harkens back to the much coveted iconic  Chanel jacket.
Ring: Forever 21
Necklace: Old
Next, we paired the jacket with an ivory dress, also plucked from the racks of the thrift store. The side-gathered folds and split lend this simple dress just that edge of appeal and changes up an otherwise simple garment.

Vikky's thick heeled shoes clinch the deal. They, like the dress and the jacket, are perfect pictures of simplicity, but with a twist. The unconventional thickness of the heel alone brings these shoes out of being simply boring black heels, and add a more modern, trendy twist to them without being too garish.

This look is good for work, for a nice casual evening, or a quick elegant drink with the girls. It's lovely and simple and lends an air of being extremely well put together when, in reality, the final look can be achieved virtually effortlessly. The dress and jacket combination is one we personally love a lot, because it affords us all seemingly endless variety in style. It's something we'll probably never tire of experimenting with.

So that's that for Rack Diving! We hope you enjoyed it and look forward to the next one!
